As you are all aware, this year’s NEET 2022 exam was held on July 17. The all-India medical test was replaced by this national eligibility cum entrance assessment. NEET UG 2022 Exam

NEET UG is a pen and paper-based MCQ exam that happens for a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. The exam pattern comprises 180 MCQs for 720 marks. These MCQs are usually taken from Classes 11 and 12 science NCERTs. The NEET written exam, which was held on 17, July was considered moderate in terms of difficulty. However, compared to the NEET 2021 exam, it was considered a bit lengthy. The official answer key of NEET 2022 will soon be uploaded to the NTA website. This will be followed by the announcement of results and the counselling process. The NEET results will carry the total marks, rank and percentile obtained by the student. Eligible candidates can further apply online for the all-India and state quota medical seats. 

NEET Counselling

The counselling will happen in four different rounds through which the medical seats in various universities across India are filled. The total number of MBBS seats in India is divided into two groups: 85% for state counselling quotas and 15% for AIQ or All India Quota. Furthermore, government dental and medical colleges make up the majority of the MBBS seats available in India. In addition, 10% of seats are set aside for the EWS, the economically disadvantaged group. Likewise, 7.5% for ST, 15% for SC, 27% for OBC, and 3% for people with physical disabilities. As per the previous year’s trend, the results are declared within one month of the examination. Thus, one can expect the NEET results somewhere around the third week of August.

Other Streams

NEET scores are also useful for admissions into BSc nursing courses in top colleges across the nation. This four-year undergraduate programme prepares students for careers as registered nurses, staff nurses, medical coders, nurse educators, etc. Although the NEET exam is not required for nursing, some states are admitting students to BSc nursing programmes based on NEET scores. Likewise, The BVSc & AH admissions in accredited veterinary colleges can also be met using the NEET UG scores.
